The inner critic is loud right now—here’s how I know

How to not make meringues:

How to not make ground parsley:

How to not beat yourself up for messing up during this stressful time:

Because here’s the thing:
This time of year, the inner critic is wide awake—loud, sharp, and ready to pounce.
Every little misstep becomes an opportunity for it.
A burnt kugel means you’re a failure.
A forgotten detail means you’re falling apart.
A snapped word means you’re a terrible mother, wife, daughter, human.

The critic takes the smallest crack and declares the whole structure broken.

But that voice is lying.

You are not your mistakes.
You are not broken.
You are worthy exactly as you are.

Even when you use salt instead of sugar.
Even when you blend the spoon.
Even when you forget the thing, lose your patience, or fall apart.

You are still whole.
Still good.
Still worthy.

Take a breath.
Be gentle with yourself.
You can start again, just as Hashem recreates you and the world in every moment.

Have a beautiful Yom Tov!

With you in the mess and growth,
Rena
