Why I named my program after bones (and what it means for how we hold space)

You might be wondering about the name of my training program: B’Etzem.

It comes from the Hebrew word “etzem,” which fascinates me because it means two things:

Bone – the structural foundation that holds us up

Essence – the core truth of who we are

To me, this captures everything about somatic work with clients. We’re helping them inhabit their literal bones, their physical foundation, AND we’re supporting them in connecting with their deepest essence.

We’re learning to help clients be present with what is actually here – in their bodies, in this moment, in this experience of being human.

Because… being with what is actually happening inside our clients is what allows things to change.

Not forcing. Not fixing. Not following someone else’s protocol.

But creating the conditions for them to be present with their own experience is what creates the space for natural transformation.

As practitioners, we become guardians of this process. We hold the container for our clients to discover that their essence lives in their bones, their wisdom lives in their body, their healing happens when they learn to stay present with whatever is arising.

This capacity to create space for authentic presence – without agenda – is what we cultivate deeply in B’Etzem. It’s not just a technique you learn; it becomes a way of being with clients that transforms everything.

B’Etzem Level 1 starts in just 16 days. If you’re ready to develop this depth of embodied presence in your clinical work, now is the time to join us.

How do you currently support clients in accessing their own inner wisdom? What would shift if you could help them connect more deeply with their embodied essence?

With curiosity,
Rena
