Orienting Outside and Inside

Rena guided the participants through a meditation exercise. She began by inviting them to soften their gaze, take deep breaths, and focus on the body and surroundings. She then shifted their attention to the sense of sound and the temperature of the air. She asked the participants to notice any scent in the air and then bring awareness to their internal environment, including the space that their emotions and thoughts take up. Finally, Rena encouraged the participants to listen to their inner world without judgment, observe what’s happening, and trust what they need in the moment.
