[Soul Tilling Monday] Flexibility

In the Jewish calendar, each month carries its own element — earth, water, fire, or wind. Sivan is the month of wind.

Wind is the element of flexibility, of openness, of not being stuck. It finds the openings. It moves through what is rigid and carries what is ready to shift.

By the time we are old enough to think for ourselves, we have already absorbed a lifetime of beliefs about how things should be, who we are supposed to be, what we are allowed to want. These aren’t all truths. They’re old winds that got stuck inside us.

This Monday we loosen the grip.

The imagery, the writing, the somatic work — these are the practice of creating openings. So that something new can move through.

~60 minutes. Not recorded.

This week’s book recommendation: If this email resonates with you, I recommend Focusing by Eugene Gendlin. Gendlin, the founder of Focusing, teaches a simple but profound practice: how to turn toward what’s already inside you with openness and not-knowing, and let something emerge that thinking alone could never reach. It’s the art of emptying the mind so the body can speak. A book that quietly changes how you relate to yourself.
