[Practice] The Honest Check-In
This is a practice in radical self-honesty: a gentle invitation to look underneath the surface, with curiosity and compassion, not judgment.
Find a comfortable position. You can close your eyes, or soften your gaze downward. Take a few slow breaths, and let your body settle.
Begin by bringing your attention inward to what’s here, in this moment, inside you.
Ask yourself, gently: How am I, really?
Not rushing to answer. Not reaching for the “I’m fine, baruch Hashem.” Just… wait. And notice what arises.
Maybe noticing something you’ve been carrying that you haven’t fully acknowledged. A feeling. A worry. A need that hasn’t been met. Whatever it is, letting it be there.
If it helps, placing one hand on your heart or on your belly. And say to whatever arises: I see you. I’m not running away from you. You’re here, and I’m willing to look.
Stay here for as long as feels right. When you’re ready, take a slow breath in, and a slow breath out.
Gently return.
Embodiment is the feminine path to Menuchas Hanefesh. You don’t have to walk it alone.

This week’s book recommendation: Daring Greatly by Brené Brown. Brené dives deep into shame, vulnerability, and what it actually takes to show up honestly with ourselves and with others. It’s a powerful read that has influenced my journey. Order a copy [here] — this is an affiliate link which doesn’t cost you anything extra and helps support my work.
